So after the problem seemed to be resolved, my computer functioned fairly normally. However, there were hangs/freezes that lasted about 20 seconds every hour or so (It was not a complete halt of the computer because the NUMLock light changed and Ctrl+Alt+Del worked, every program just went unresponsive). These hangs/ freezes increased in frequency and duration as time passed. Evenually, I got a BSOD with an error something along the lines of: 'Windows has been shut down to protect your computer.. STOP 00000024.' I also noticed when looking at my windows update logs that there is a windows security update that continuously failed to update, even when I tried to manually download the update. I have ran the CHKDSK /r and sfc /scannow commands several times to no avail, and now my computer will not even boot, immediately going to startup repair if I try.
