We're going to have to tell you about a twist in one of the main storylines in a bit, so if you don't want to know Bruce Willis is a ghost and that rosebud is a sled, move along now.

No information is available for this page.Learn why. Apotheosis is an upcoming Skyrim expansion set across the 16 realms of Oblivion. Tasked by a primordial being to track down and defeat the 16 Daedric Lords, you must seek and assemble the pieces of the Heart of Lorkhan, and ascend to Godhood.

Gone? Ractcher and clank for bluestacks. Okay.

Remember Elder Scrolls Skyrim? You know, that game from five years ago? That's right, Skyrim has just been reborn as an all-new remastered Special Edition version for PS4 and Xbox One, with fancy new graphics and mod support for consoles.

Whether you're new to Tamriel or just keen on spending another 250 hours wandering around Skyrim's dungeons, here are the seven things you have to try out.

1. Join the Dark Brotherhood

There are six main quest lines in Skyrim: the main story and those of the various organisations you can muck in with. These include a bunch of guilds and two sides of a Star Wars-alike conflict between the Imperials ('the man') and the Stormcloaks ('the rebels').

We'd recommend trying a bunch of these, but many say the Dark Brotherhood is the most fun of all the storylines. This is the assassin's guild, charging you with taking out all sorts of hopefully-not-too-innocent people. And who doesn't like a bit of stabbing every now and then? (NOT IN REAL LIFE.)

Of course, the assassin's guild isn't going to have a branch on the high street, so you have to ask around at taverns for rumours to get involved. When you hear about Aventus Aretino, you're on the right track.

2. Become a werewolf

Here's the spoiler bit: Skyrim lets you become a werewolf as part of the 'Companions' quest line. This is basically the warrior's guild, but after a few meaty quests it's revealed all the leather-clad meatballs are actually werewolves. And you get to turn into one yourself later in the quest line.

You can turn in and out of the werewolf form, and are much stronger and faster when fur'd up. However, you can't use any weapons and everyone will shriek and run as soon as they see you when in were-mode. Pros and cons, then.

3. Take on a giant

One of the neatest enemies in Skyrim isn't found in some deep dungeon, but in the plains by Whiterun, a village in which you end up fairly early in the game.

We're talking about giants.

They seem like gentle creatures, ambling around the fields with their woolly mammoth buddies as if they're taking a puppy out for a walk. However, they're bloody massive and aren't afraid to swat you with a club if you get too close.

This is a fight you're probably not going to win unless you've been playing the game for 100 hours or so, but a whack from a giant club can send you flying 100m into the air like a ragdoll. It's pretty fun to watch.

4. Try out some mods

Modding has finally come to the console versions of Skyrim with the Special Edition. Mods have kept PC players plugged into the game even though, let's be honest, it's ancient at this point. A granddad with a new hipster hairdo.

There are loads more mods available on Xbox One than PS4 because Microsoft is much less restrictive about how large they can be.

One PS4 mod you might want to check out adds loads of lampposts to the game, because everyone gets scared every now and then, or Even Better Quest Objectives. This updates quest descriptions so they make more sense.

The Xbox One already has some more ambitious mods. The Forgotten City is one of the best, a 6-8 hour mystery that adds an entire underground city area. And it's free. If you're wondering which console version to buy, add-ons like this make it a bit of a no-brainer.

5. Check out Dragonborn's island

The new Remastered version of Skyrim comes will all the DLC released for the game over the years. Dragonborn is the meatiest of the lot, because it adds a whole new island to explore, Solstheim.

This is an area you'll want to visit if you've played Skyrim before but only touched the main game.

To get involved you need to have reached the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller quest of the main storyline. It's the fifth quest. Once you've played that far, just head to the docks by Whitehelm and find a chap called Gjalund Salt-Sage. He'll offer you a ride to Solstheim.

6. Play the A Night to Remember Quest

When you've sunk 12 hours straight into Skyrim, eyes all red and T-shirt covered in Wotsit crumbs, you may need a break. Not from the game, but the endless quests of killing X knobbly-looking enemies or retrieving Y gnarly roots.

One of the most fun quests of the game is called 'A Night to Remember'. It's basically The Hangover, Skyrim-style, but we won't give you any more spoilers as the story is the real draw.

To kick off this quest, you need to find a character called Sam Guevenne, who will appear in a tavern once you hit level 14. No specific tavern, so keep an eye out.

7. Climb the Throat of the World

Skyrim No Main Quest Mod

One of the main thrills of Skyrim is seeing something grand in the distance, maybe a cliff lifted straight from Lord of the Rings, and knowing you can go there. The great big snowy sore thumb of Skyrim's world is a giant mountain called the Throat of the World.

You can't miss it: it's the bit on the map that looks like one of those 3D movie effects designed to virtually poke you in the eye. Some serious jumping is involved to get to the top of the mountain, and it's almost impossible until you learn a special move from a dragon: that's right, this is high fantasy, not your Call of Duty rubbish.

However, Edmund Hillary is not going to be impressed if you wimp out.
